Gurmar Gurmar / Madhunashini

The Ayurvedic leaf whose Hindi name means "sugar destroyer".

Gurmar is a woody climbing plant native to central and southern India. Chewing the leaf briefly dulls the taste of sweetness, which is how it earned its name.

It has a long history in Ayurveda. We blend it with sweeter spices so its characteristic bitterness stays in the background.
